Carter played Wonder Woman in the iconic 1970s television series.
Lynda Carter has so much class!
"I’m in her corner," Carter told the Huffington Post about Gadot. “I just hope they write well for her!”
Carter went on to discuss the qualities she hopes the film’s writers give the character, which she noted should not be a female version of a male superhero.
"I’m very hopeful she embodies the essence of Wonder Woman," Carter said. "It’s less about super powers and more about heart and intellect and a sense of right and wrong with a goodness in her. Often times, writers really want to take a male superhero and dress him up as a female - and that’s just not who she is."
In a previous interview with Metro, Carter similarly expressed that she is glad to see someone else getting a chance to play Wonder Woman, adding that introducing the character in the “Batman vs. Superman” sequel to “Man of Steel” is probably more appropriate than immediately giving her a standalone film.
"Maybe that’s better. She won’t have to carry the whole film. It takes the pressure off. I wish her well. I’m just glad she’s going to be out there again. Maybe she’ll get her own show again."
"Scarlett does great representation for all the other girls, but there should be a Wonder Woman movie. I don’t care if they make 20 bucks, if there’s a movie you’re gonna lose money on, make it Wonder Woman. You know what I mean, ’cause little girls deserve that."
It seems this movie may finally be coming together production wise.
According to Jennifer Garner, while on the Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon, her husband Ben Affleck (Batman) flies out to Detroit, MI to begin production on Man Of Steel 204/11/14.
